instrumentum vocale
instrumentum vocale is a collection of text- and sound figures. The sound figures were entirely composed and produced by using granulated voices taken from radio, TV or the internet. No other samples or instruments were used. The whole collection, consisting of forty text- and sound figures has been published as a book with CD by Klever Verlag under the title “INSTRUMENTUM VOCALE. Ein Figurenpark aus Text und Klang” in 2014. Additionally, the sound figures are also available as a digital album on ETYMTONE.
Jürgen Berlakovich
*1970. Author and musician. He uses spoken language and DNA-sonifications in combination with guitars and electronics for compositions and improvisations. Texts, audio cartoons, sound essays, sound interpretations, film music, radioplays and speech soundscapes. Co-founder of the music- and literature-performance duo Sergej Mohntau. Member of The Vegetable Orchestra. Studied German literature and philosophy at Vienna University. Teaches acoustic poetry at the sfd – schule für dichtung. Performances and releases also under Juergen Berlakovich, J.S. Berlakovich, JSB and Takamovsky. Recent publications: Tobman. Roman.
